Cowboys coach blog info

You own the COWBOYS of YESTERYEAR. 2 coaches interview with you. A YOUNG TOM LANDRY and A YOUNG JIMMY J?

Cowboys coach
Dollbaby Melissa asked:

An entirely new squad that neither man is with at first flying by the seat of their team who do you hire young tom.

An entirely new squad that neither man is with hypothetical clean slate neither coach has advantages.

The seat of their pants until they have already coached it their pants until they have already coached it would be.

Tom Landry, don’t forget he was the first coach of the Cowboys and built them up into greatness.

    I would take Landry

Treated Landry at the end of his carrier???
yeah it sucks when some one builds a statue of you in front of the stadium and names a street and a highway after you.

    A young Tom Landry.

A quiet, stoic tough guy who is fair and just expects hard work. Landry gets the respect of players he never had met, so I think going from square one that’s an advantage over Jimmy. Landry also had the defensive background, and I think starting new essentially like you phrase the question begs for a bit more of a defensive mindset.

I love them both, but in this case I personally would go for Tom Landry.

    A young Jimmy Johnson.

He had even better hair back then than he does today.

However, I think Jimmy Johnson was a genius when it came to running the dallas offense, and what he did. His plays were unique, and they were built around his best players they had.

I would go with Jones, just to be different.

    Good luck!!

Landry. Landry invented a defense, the Flex, and was a defensive genius. He matched wits with Halas and Lombardi.

Depends on if they would be coaching todays players or yesteryears players.

J.J. could manage todays players better, bigger egos and what not, J.J. was also a great evaluator of talent.

If you were just given a team and had to coach with no attitudes then I think Landry was an all round better coach.

If it were in todays game with todays talent and player and give the team three years with drafts then i’ll take a young Jimmy.

Tom Landry preaches discipline more than Jimmy, so I’d have to give him the nod.

  9. How About Dem Cowboys ????? - May 12th, 2009 at 10:52 pm

Tom Landry he had one helluva head on his shoulder. That is why he is still respected so highly, from people that are not Dallas fans. But heyyyy Jimmie is every woman’s dream. The man is immaculate has white carpet throughout his entire home. No maid to found !!!! so the best of both worlds for me !!!!! Now that’s called having your cake and eating too.. ‘

    I’ll go with Tom Landry

  11. toughguy2 - May 18th, 2009 at 2:51 am

I would pick the classy and smart Tom Landry every time. He was a football genius and innovator. He also was a very good and decent man on and off the field and that’sthe kind of coach I’d want for my team. Jimmy of course took Landry’s place and I never cared for the way the organization done coach Landry. So, I’ll take the young Landry and his classiness and great football mind to coach my team without a doubt.

I would invite you to dinner, where we’d interview both coaches. I’d offer the job to Jimmy Johnson, who is the only coach of the two I have seen in action. I was too little when Landy was storming the sidelines.
